~Raison d'etre~

 I just got back after doing some prep at my new school before starting tomorrow - I'm really looking forward to working there ^-^ Its a shame that whenever I find a nice school, I get a temporary job ^^;

That's life I guess - but it won't stop me enjoying it ^-^

New Year is that time of year when you start thinking about way to change to improve your life - this is the first year in a while that I haven't written a proper set of resolutions. I may have been worried a lot about money recently, and (of course) losing a few pounds would be nice, and I could go on about how, at the moment, I've lost my love of conventions - but I've got so many things going right in my life now that I don't want to dwell on the bad. I have the most wonderful fiance, some lovely friends and I now have a steady income - I'm really very lucky to have those :)

Yesterday was a good birthday spent with Andy-kun :) We met Kei in the morning for the Mario Kart event in town (I highly recommend buying it when it comes out on Friday, its fab!), and went across to see my parents and sister in the afternoon which was nice :)

I got some nice presents too - on top of the lovely gifts from last weekend (which were a framed CCS cel from Steve and Kelly, Magkid DS from Andy, an itunes gift card from Fridge and Cooking Mama 2 from Will). I got a huge Kirby  plush and Taiko DS from Andy-kun, Singstar Legends from Kei, A fab cookery book and necklace from my parents and a bag, sweets and hot chocolate from my sister ^-^

Now for the ouch....with some money from grandparents I bought myself the new DDR game, 'Hottest Party' for the Wii. Its great fun, and integrates hand movements as well as feet. Unfortunately, I have manged to sprain my wrist this afternoon playing it ^^; I've had years of playing DDR without a foot/leg injury and now I've hurt my wrist ^^;;

We had a rematch and I won! (I think it may have been due to the fact that my Prinplup froze his Mudkip solid, or that my Haunter cursed his Spiritomb - but either way, I'm happy!)

After the battle, I pretty much launched into him and burst into tears - I just didn't think that I would win! He tried to get down on one knee to propose properly, but I refused to let go of him, we just held each other. He told me that he's the happiest man in the whole world :)

So, now we are engaged - and we're both very happy to announce it :) We have done in it a way that some people think is a bit silly - but it's perfectly us, and we've never been happier *smiles*

Andy-kun told me today that he's like to ask me to marry him - Ive never been so excited! I don't think I've stopped smiling all afternoon! I love him so much, and its just the most perfect thing that could happen!!! :)

There is only one problem... in order for him to ask me, he has challenged me to a Pokemon Battle - for most people, it probably sounds really mad - but really, it's exactly us ^-^ It shouldn't be a problem, but I got waylaid during play of Pokemon Diamond, and my team is averaging around level 20 ^^; He says he has something up his sleeve for when I manage to beat him! *grabs DS* I think this might be an all night training session ^^;

Last night, rather late, Andy and I got back from our weekend away in London. We wanted to celebrate our first valentines weekend together (as we were in long-distance-relationship-land last year), and with ANdy getting a promotion - we had two reasons to celebrate :)

I guess one of my main resolutions is to use my LJ more again - with the moving and new job stuff last year, the poor thing got a bit neglected, but now I'm in the mood to get writing again :) Also - I need more LJ friends! *gambatte ne!*

Also - I want to lose enough weight to be in the 'okay' BMI range. Thanks to a good year for weight loss last year, I've only got a few kg left to go, but I'm determined to get there! I've also finally opening a proper savings account for the many things I want to save for (namely buying a house someday, visiting Japan with Andy, breast reduction etc.)

Oooh - last entry I mentioned a cute new laptop. Andy-kun has bought me an 'Eee PC' (which I said should be both of ours, but he insists that I use it). It's tiny (I guess the screen is around 7 inches), but It'll be ultra useful for work. I've named her 'Rin' after the main character of 'Kodomo no Jikan' - who is a little troublemaker. I think it suits it well ^-^
